About the event

Guided tour and roundtable discussion: join a guided tour by the curator of the exhibition Tumpa Husna Yasmin Fellows, founder of FAME collective. Guest respondents will be invited to speak about the exhibition. There will be an opportunity for visitors to respond, giving visitors a voice and encouraging engagement with exhibition themes.

At the RIBA headquarters, at 5:30pm Thursday 11 April 2024.

CHAIR OF THE DISCUSSION AND CURATOR OF FAME COLLECTIVE’S EXHIBITION 

Tumpa Husna Yasmin Fellows is an architect, educator, activist and a researcher. She utilises feminine embodied architectural practice, as an active agent of socio-spatial decolonisation for environmental, climate and spatial justice.  

RESPONDENTS OF THE FAME COLLECTIVE’S EXHIBITION 

Tom Ravenscroft is the editor of Dezeen. He holds masters in architectural history from both Edinburgh and The Bartlett, where his writing focused on the architecture of data centres. Tom has worked for several publications in architecture and construction, including the Architects' Journal and Construction Manager.  

Kudzai Matsvai is an Equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) Expert, Architectural Designer, Educator, and Activist with a genuine passion for progressive change for under-represented communities.  

Juliana Kei is a Lecturer in Architecture at the University of Liverpool. Her works investigates how population are defined through environmental notions in 20th century Britain and beyond.  

Hugh Simpson is the Chief Executive and Registrar of the Architects Registration Board. He was appointed in December 2020 and has 20 years of regulatory experience and has held senior roles at the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and the General Medical Council (GMC).  

Hilary Satchwell is an architect, urban designer and masterplanner with a focus on making good places, people and planning for good growth. She is appointed as a Mayor's Design Advocate for the Mayor of London, is a member of the Part W collective, and is a founder director of Tibbalds Planning and Urban Design with a strong focus on organisational culture and inclusion.
